Parker Duofold 100th Anniversary Special Edition Red Fountain Pen marks 100 years since the launch of the iconic Parker Duofold and to celebrate this century of excellence in 2021, Parker proudly honours the traditions of this fine writing instrument with the release of this Special Edition. This Parker Duofold 100th Anniversary Special Edition Red Fountain Pen edition pays tribute to that bold and progressive spirit of the 1920’s with a modern interpretation of three of its most iconic finishes: Big Red, Black, and Lapis Lazuli.  Each Parker Duofold 100th Anniversary Special Edition Red Fountain Pen comprises 22 components, individually hand-assembled with expertise and dedication to craftsmanship.  The intricate pattern decorating the cap and barrel is formed by delicately fusing multiple thin layers of precious resin together to create a series of striking coloured bands.  The cap jewel and 18k solid gold nib bare Duofold’s symbol of excellence, the Ace of Spades motif, alongside the years ‘1921-2021’. This is an absolutely stunning looking fountain pen!

The inspiration of the finish of the 3 pens all dates back to the original pens from 1921 and 1927, the Big Red (1921), Black (1921) and Lapis Lazuli (1927). Parker began to manufacture Duofolds from plastic in the 1920s. The plastic had several advantages over hard rubber, which it replaced. It was stronger and could be produced in many different colours.
Parker began experimenting with the Duofold by fusing different coloured plastics together, in order to make alternating bands of colour.
The Anniversary Edition takes inspiration from those early experiments by delicately fusing multiple thin layers of precious resin together to form an intricate pattern on the cap and barrel. Each pen comprises of three precious resins, and although made with a different process today, each resin is carefully selected to create alternating bands of colour, a clear nod to those early experiments.

We often supply used refills with our ballpoint and rollerball pens, these refills have unknown quantity of ink inside and could run out after a short period. We don’t supply or stock new refills however refills are readily available online at little cost.
