A Visconti Caravel Pinta Brown celluloid fountain pen by Visconti accompanied by a lovely 3 pen pouch

This one has been inked however condition is excellent throughout.

In 1992 Visconti issued a special limited edition to celebrate 500 years from the discovery of America, only 500 ever made and this one is number 55

The limited edition was composed of a series of three pens in celluloid, in three different colors; each of them was dedicated to one of the three vessels Colombo used to sail the Ocean.

The pens were named: Nina ,Pinta and Santa Maria

Visconti produced 500 pieces  for each color. The cap top of each colour shows the name of the pen.

They are piston fillers and have 14 ct gold nibs.

Made from a red celluloid with gold coloured trim , has the limited edition number 52 on the cap, reads Visconti Caravel Firenze Italia on the clip bands

The cap is screw on remove the blind cap to fill with the piston

The pens nib is made from 14K gold and is a M = medium in size

The pen is not boxed however included is a wonderful three pen brown leather case made by Visconti for this range
